how I learned to hate reading new sci fi/fantasy sometimes

I am PO'ed .you know what it means...pissed off...i am worried that the greatest sci fi writer,Phillip Kindred Dick, born 1928, died 1982 is going to see his writing ideas copied, and the people doing it will only be out for money... TBP- the big payoff.

I came across a guy who has put alot of his material online.Its for readers or fans of his to download for a fee i guess.But its a PDF file or something protected but thing is--its cached by google and its online available if one has the iron in their virtual butt cheeks to sit there and copy it to their own computer...So much for originality, or fair commerce Laws being obeyed...Sure i didn't download it. That's illegal. (I point to my left) It's this other guy who DL'ed it, here in this public Library, at umm, yea, Berkeley Cali...

So I try reading thru this book and its a working outline of the story he's been working on for about 4 years or so...oh i am sorry--am i discussing your book?... No i am not... Relax. How am i so sure?

 

Well if you are younger than 60 yrs old, a famous or struggling GOOD writer, i am not talking about your book. I notice this book he is writing is with cool ideas in it seen in other books by authors like Tolkien, Douglas Adams, Orson Scott Card, etc...How do i know? Because he is openly stealing those authors story ideas and characters, thats how...boldly, stupidly. oh krist yes.

So my complaint isnt that this guy found a way to waste 4 yrs of his Life. Better its this instead of bending his car around me or you at a street light. But my worry is how can the net feed this and take it online? yuck. what a waste of whatever that stuff is online that stores all our stuff...you know...it use to be called bandwidth...

 So i started writing this thinking that maybe i can reach out there to the oddballs who might try and get the fame that a P.K. Dick Landed by copying PKD stuff in his books. I ask you to consider a nice productive line of work that is able to help society instead. Its not so much the fact that it took society/high tech 20,40, 60 years AFTER PKD was dead to get to where PKD novels make sense and scare us a bit more than we like to admit...Its the fact that out there somewhere is another genius like PKD, working quietly, writing who also will map out some odd future of mankind very close to how it will be in 100 years from now.And that will scare the chit out of us--  Right .

And me and you and others-- we won't be alive to see that future, so we cannot imagine who this new model modern svengali genius is. So...sorry but that is a bummer for me. Thats all for now ...
